The City of Cape Town may have to call on the Wisdom of Solomon in its upcoming choice over the ownership of a historic Langa church hall, though in this case, cutting the baby in half isn’t an option.

For 14 years, two rival denominations of the Presbyterian Church in the Western Cape have battled for the right to own the Langa township church hall and manse.

But even after an intervention by the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA), there’s a very real possibility that this could be the start of a bidding war if the two churches can’t come to an agreement...
