SA builds its own wall to deal with cross-border crimes
The construction of a multimillion-rand barrier in KZN is an attempt to thwart an international car syndicate
The government has hatched a concrete plan to deal with the illegal movement of vehicles from SA into Mozambique.
This week the provincial department of transport revealed it would be investing about R100m in the construction of an 8km concrete barrier along the international border between SA and Mozambique, which is expected to reduce the number of stolen vehicles that are moved across the border.
According to the KZN DoT, a minimum of 30 vehicles are taken illegally from here to Mozambique every month...
