It’s big-cat heaven as three-legged cheetah finds his perfect spot

Rescued big cats get a second chance at Lionsrock sanctuary - with no petting by humans

When Sasha runs he is so fast and his stride so graceful that the human eye cannot spot that he is missing his back left leg.

But when the male cheetah – living at the Lionsrock Big Cat Sanctuary in Bethlehem, Free State – stands to walk, he is clumsy, almost like a drunk stumbling home.

Sasha was found by a farmer living near the Botswana border. The man noticed a sheep carcass on his farm, with cheetah spoor around it, and then came across the abandoned cub. He assumed the cub’s mother had been poached or killed by another farmer...
