Experts warn severe drought in the western parts of SA has dire consequences for the rest of the country

There is a serious water crisis in the country and the knock-on effects of a socio-economic crisis are looming.  

This is according to AgriSA deputy CEO Christo van der Rheede, who said the effects of the drought in the western parts of the country were affecting the whole of SA.

According to department of agriculture, forestry and fisheries spokesperson Reggie Ngcobo, the R728.5m allocated by the National Treasury for drought relief for the past two years has depleted. ..
