Matric trial exams began on Monday under the threat of being stalled because hundreds of schools in the Mangaung municipality were without water.

Thousands of pupils around Bloemfontein have been without water for nearly three weeks after the metro put them on a drip system owing to non-payment by the Free State education department.

Now, the Bloemfontein High Court has ruled that the Mangaung metro restore water to all the schools with immediate effect...
