Hair today, gone in seconds as wig thieves target more Durban women

The hair-raising menace has prompted the police to go on an crime-awareness campaign

When Esihle Zondi’s long, gleaming wig was snatched off her head by a thief, she refused to let it go without a fight.

Zondi, a student at the Durban University of Technology, kicked, beat and slapped the thief until he relented and handed the 66cm piece of hair back to her.
