‘Zuma lied to Zondo about sacking GCIS boss’

Ex-president has denied giving the instruction to remove Themba Maseko. Not so, the state capture probe hears

Did ex-president Jacob Zuma lie to the state capture inquiry when he said the former Government Communication and Information System boss Themba Maseko was not axed on his instruction?

This was the question that arose on Monday when two senior staff members who worked in the office of the minister in the presidency – which at the time of Maseko’s removal was led by Collins Chabane – testified. 

Chabane’s department was in charge of GCIS at the time and he had the authority to remove Maseko. ..
