It’s official. Joburg’s famous eagle was killed by a Miracle

The new arrival at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden has emerged as the killer of a very special chick

Gardeners at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden have named the new black eagle male Mahlori, which means miracle.

The eagle pair living in the gardens have become an institution in Johannesburg and the comings and goings of new birds pull crowds to their home near Witpoortjie waterfall in Roodepoort.

Unfortunately, the real would-be miracle, the little chick, did not survive Mahlori’s clutches...
