Pupils kicked out for dagga: was school within its rights?

Parent says he didn't give permission for drug test, but school vehemently denies it acted outside the rules

Two pupils from King Edward High in Matatiele, Eastern Cape, have been booted out of the school’s hostel after admitting to smoking dagga on the premises.

A third pupil, who also confessed to smoking cannabis, is understood to be leaving the school.

The two former hostel pupils, both in Grade 10, were subjected to a drug test last week and the results came back positive...
