EFF claims he unlawfully rented office space, but he says he has no idea what they’re on about

The public protector is investigating Gauteng human settlements and urban planning MEC Lebogang Maile for his alleged role in an unlawful lease for office space.

This comes after a complaint laid by Gauteng EFF leader Mandisa Mashego in June.

Mashego asked the public protector to investigate Maile for allegedly signing an unlawful lease without following procurement processes; violation of Executive Code of Ethics Act; and failure to release a forensic report that was commissioned by his department...
