Watchdog criticises firm for its 'hysterical' tone in disparaging substances found in rival products
A TV commercial for an alternative arthritis remedy has been flayed by the ad watchdog for fearmongering and making misleading, unsubstantiated and disparaging claims.
The ad for Piascledine, manufactured by Austell Laboratories, was also found to contravene the rules on comparative advertising, and members of the Advertising Regulatory Board have been advised not to run it.
Austell has not signed up to the wachdog, so the board was unable to ban its commercial despite its finding that it broke the code of advertising practice on several grounds...
