For years, the Free State government strung along hopeful small-scale farmers who had a dream that the Estina Dairy Farm project would provide a better means of income, develop their skills and uplift their impoverished community.

But their aspirations were shot down when the project turned into a cash cow for corrupt politicians and members of the Gupta family, who used it as a vehicle to loot provincial coffers – and those who dare speak out, get death threats.

Now, seven years since the inception of the project, those intended beneficiaries fear for their lives, too afraid to speak out against the malfeasance that occurred...
