Bless the drains down in Knysna and stop stuffing them with trash

A campaign is asking residents to remember that any rubbish that goes down the drain pollutes the oceans

The drains and manholes of Knysna don’t usually get a lot of attention, but an anti-littering campaign is using them to remind residents that the next time they dump their trash down the drain they’re actually polluting the oceans.

“The sea starts here,” has been stencilled on numerous drains around the Western Cape town.

The words are surrounded by silhouettes of the endangered Knysna seahorse, another reminder that ocean wildlife remains under threat because of the vast amount of garbage making its way into the sea...
