It’s early on a chilly winter morning and Katekani Rihlamphu stands in a container on Hout Bay beach watching children streaming towards him.

Rihlamphu is the site manager for Waves for Change (W4C), a surf therapy NGO founded in Muizenberg by Tom Conibear in 2011.

Hout Bay is W4C’s latest site, and has allowed the charity – which operates around SA and in Liberia – to push the number of children it assists beyond 1,000 a week...
