CEO's bid for top regional internet board seat dogged by mismanagement and financial irregularity allegations
The suspended CEO of SA’s internet regulator, Vika Mpisane, under whose watch R10m is said to have disappeared, has been nominated to serve on the board of Africa’s regional internet authority.
Mpisane, who has been chief executive of the .ZA Domain Name Authority (ZADNA) since 2013, was suspended on December 5 2018 after allegations emerged of mismanagement and financial irregularities that are said to have cost the regulator an estimated R10m.
But last week it was announced he had been nominated as Southern Africa’s only regional candidate to the African Network Information Centre [AfriNIC] board. The nomination is set to be endorsed at AfriNIC's annual general members’ meeting in Uganda next week...
