Nxasana dishes the dirt about Jiba’s attempts at digging up dirt

Former NDPP had plenty to say to Zondo probe about Nomgcobo Jiba’s alleged campaign to discredit him

Former national director of public prosecutions (NDPP) Mxolisi Nxasana on Wednesday used his time at the state capture commission to hit out at his then acting predecessor, Nomgcobo Jiba.

Nxasana told the commission that Jiba allegedly ran a campaign within the national prosecuting authority (NPA) to discredit him after he was appointed as NDPP by then president Jacob Zuma in 2013. Jiba was found to be unfit to hold office earlier this year by an independent inquiry and was sacked by President Cyril Ramaphosa. 

But Jiba was rescued by lunchtime on Wednesday when her legal representative, advocate Vuyani Ngalwana, approached the commission to argue for a postponement of all Nxasana’s evidence implicating Jiba...
