Umdloti speed humps - more than just a bump in the road

Four speed humps have rattled residents of the popular tourist town

If you drive over the speed humps at anything over 1km/h on the outskirts of the seaside town of Umdloti, you run the risk of losing your back teeth, breaking your back or removing your car’s rear axle.

This is according to several members of the affluent community on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast where the newly installed traffic-calming devices are more than just a bump in the road.

More than 200 residents have either contacted the eThekwini municipality or KwaZulu-Natal department of transport, or ranted on social media about the speed humps being “too high”...
