Light moments as new members of the national executive are sworn in on Thursday


The mood was decidedly festive as the new members the national executive were sworn in by chief justice Mogoeng Mogoeng and his deputy Raymond Zondo at the Sefako Makgatho presidential guest house in Tshwane on Thursday.

The group of 62 ministers and deputy ministers took turns to either swear or affirm their loyalty to the constitution and people of the republic.

The ceremony was not too serious, partly thanks to the not-so-popular middle names of some of the ministers – names they had to say publicly due to the requirement that they have to state their full name during the taking of the oath...
