Mötley Crüe, which vowed never to play live again, reunites for new audiences, taking other ballies along for the ride

MTV-era rock band Mötley Crüe, which once vowed to never play live again, is riding the success of a few streaming TV programmes into one of the top-selling upcoming concert tours.

With 36 live dates, the US band’s comeback tour has sold more than a million tickets, according to its website. US ticket reseller StubHub said the tour is the site’s most in-demand. The band is co-headlining with Def Leppard. Poison and Joan Jett will open the shows.

Summer in the US is shaping up to be a record for live music, with concert giant Live Nation Entertainment predicting its strongest ever. StubHub said it’s handling nearly twice the events of 2019, with sales up 25% so far this summer, compared with before the pandemic...
