CrossFit makes a good analogy for the online training hype.

Not all hype is bad hype. If you connect with the good apples during the peak of the hype you will probably be devoted for years. Connect with the duds and you will be sorry.

CrossFit boxes (gyms) run by suitably qualified coaching teams are among the nicest places to train. I could rattle off more than a dozen in SA that take into account training age, mobility, comorbidities and more, and are wonderful communities with very fit people of all shapes, sizes and beliefs...
