Cruel to not be kind: testing on monkeys is morally bankrupt
It is surely time we found another way to test for vaccines – one that respects all life, not just ours
The shortfall of monkeys to test the plethora of Covid-19 vaccines being developed is telling of the state of human consciousness – and our lack of morality.
One of the reasons for the monkey shortage in places like the US is the drop in supply from China after exports were cut off owing to the pandemic.
It’s one thing to talk about the export and import of personal protective equipment to deal with a pandemic, but another to talk about importing living creatures that are essentially being handled as expendable commodities to be used for the benefit of humans...
