Juice away, but remember, too much of a good thing can be bad

So you’re on a smoothie diet, but not losing weight? It’s probably to do with the calories in the ingredients

Smoothies can be a fantastic meal replacement and, in some instances, are quite “healthy” — a vague term at best. Those who advocate “juicing”, when various green vegetables are blended into water and then downed before the taste hits, claim to feel healthy, vibrant ... and regular.

However, something that may be designed with the best intentions can still be abused.

A national highway has multiple lanes and a higher speed limit than a small suburban road with traffic-calming measures and traffic lights. Unless you live in another country, you will know this does not stop South Africans treating both the same...
