Project Power — Netflix

Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and newcomer Dominique Fishback star in this dystopian sci-fi thriller about a designer drug on the streets of New Orleans that offers its users the ability to temporarily gain superpowers. Of course, humans being nasty, selfish creatures, it’s not a drug that’s used for good, but rather for chaos and mayhem. And so an ex-solider, a cop and a teenager find themselves thrown together to return the natural order of things. It’s a slick, easy-to-ride-along-with action thriller that’s just as easily forgotten once the credits have rolled.
