The KAMERS/Makers market is a favourite for entrepreneurs and loyal patrons, but the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic have not left this cherished artisanal sphere unscathed.

Going strong for two decades, the KAMERS model prides itself on its ability to erect a selection of carefully curated pop-up stalls in otherwise empty retail spaces, showcasing a variety of South African wares and the best of the country’s ingenuity.

Of course, the prohibition on group gatherings has been something of a spanner in the works in 2020, but as K/M creative CEO Wanda du Toit insists, this has not put a stop to the “entrepreneurial energy” that compels the KAMERS/Makers organisers to advocate for the artisans and makers who have come to rely on them...
