The beautiful books are not yet read: the millennial checklist

An entirely ‘objective’ list of books every millennial should read before they reach boomer age


Everyone has a must-read list. That special queue of tomes, novellas and classics that one needs to be able to reference in pretentious conversation. Those checklists tend to look like something recommended to a British governess-turned-schoolteacher.

The thing is, running around telling everyone you have read Tennyson in today’s climate isn’t going to cut it. You need diversity. Something to rattle the literary halls of power while still paying homage to some of the greats. Most importantly you need something that will make you sound interesting because no one wants to talk to someone whose literary range consists solely of old white dudes. So if you are a millennial looking for a slightly more diverse reading list to knock, why not try these:
