Internet rallies to hoof mini rapper for shooting Stallion

Petition to deport Canadian Tory Lanez swells after fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion shot in both feet


Ever since the killing of George Floyd, online petitions have become all the rage among armchair activists. They’re quick, easy, cheap and let the world know that not only do you care but you care enough to do something about it.

While most petitions are an exercise in auto-erotic virtue signalling, the latest one probably has a good chance of achieving real change. So far more than 17,000 people have signed a petition on to have pint-sized Canadian rapper Tory Lanez deported and permanently banned from the US.

The rapper (real name Daystar Peterson) fell foul of the internet and potentially the law after it emerged that he allegedly shot fellow rapper, and rumoured girlfriend, Megan Thee Stallion this month. When the story initially broke it was reported that Megan Thee Stallion had cut her foot on glass after a party at Kylie Jenner’s Los Angeles house and Lanez had simply been detained on concealed weapons charges. It soon emerged however that Megan Thee Stallion had in fact been shot “intentionally” in both feet. She confirmed this in a number of Instagram posts, although she has neither confirmed nor denied that Lanez did it...
