What am I listening to? Revolutions S4, a podcast series detailing various major insurrections by historian Mike Duncan. This one focuses on the Haitian Revolution in the 1700s.

We live in tense times. There’s a pandemic going on, our government is getting a little heavy-handed with all of its “for the greater good” measures and systemic racism seems to be enjoying a particularly good run of form. It’s enough to make you think that maybe we need a change. Not one of those “let’s do something different at the salon” kind of changes. Nope, a lot of people are starting to feel as if we need to uproot the entire system and start again. People are starting to itch for a revolution. Well, history can teach us a lot about revolutions and perhaps one of the most exciting is covered in season 4 of Duncan’s popular series.
