Food, glorious food. Whether you are a vegan extremist or a wannabe carnivore, food plays such a pivotal role in just about everything humans do that it is hard not to be hopelessly in love with it. Being human, some of us take that love to extremes. Competitive extremes. For instance:

Ball busters

Once a year, somewhere in small towns across America, the community gathers to have a bit of a party. As is the case with these kinds of all-‘murican events, there are wet T-shirt competitions, beer and copious amounts of flannel. What makes this event a little more unusual is what is on the menu: testicles. These festivals give people a chance to sample a wide variety of animal gonads, usually deep fried. The festival in Clinton, Montana, however, takes it one step further, by adding a competitive eating element to the mix, giving new meaning to the idea of a fistful of nuts...
