It’s nonstop laughs from India, Malawi and SA for the UN Comedy Show at Cape Town's revived festival

If the UN Comedy show, on at the Cape Town Comedy Festival (https://capetowncomedyfestival.com/) this week, were a competition, it would be a South-South win.

I’m not an impartial judge (who is?) being South African, but the stand-up comedians of Malawian and Indian descent –both living in London these days – and SA’s own Nik Rabinowitz elicited nonstop laughter.

Daliso Chaponda, who got a golden buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent, says his agent wanted him to do more TV reality shows and entered him for Survival. But they told Chaponda he would have “an unfair advantage”, you know, being from Africa...
