We’re living in one of the most turbulent geopolitical periods in a long time. We can expect that Brexit will have its own disruptive effect on us, as the UK is a country South Africans have had close historical trade contact and ties with for many years. US President Donald Trump has faced impeachment and now, as part of his election campaign and as a diversion tactic, is intensifying friction with Iran, which also means the Gulf, Yemen and surrounding areas such as Saudi Arabia. We buy fuel from the Middle East, and so there will most probably be an effect on our wallets...
