Whisky fundi Georgie Bell shares her insights

If you thought whisky was a man’s affair, think again. From distillery owners to managers and master blenders, women play more of a centre-stage role in the spirits industry than you might think.

Georgie Bell has been a trailblazer since acquiring a love for whisky as a student working as a cocktail bartender. She obtained her degree in distilling from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling in 2013 with the highest mark in the world, earning a scholarship to the Worshipful Company of Distillers, a guild in London, of which she is now a Livery member.

Today, she works with the Bacardi group to win over a new generation of whisky drinkers. “I love travelling and working with our local teams to inspire bartenders and whisky lovers about our single malts,” she says...
