“I feel more like a straw than a cup,” says Man Repeller founder Leandra Medine (Cohen). She is sitting with her feet up on a sofa in a photography studio on Manhattan’s West Side, sharing details of her new collection with Mango, and attempting to explain her ethos on fashion collaborations.

“I would rather dip into other people’s cups,” she continues, “share some of my water, taste some of theirs, and then see what we can make together.”

It’s almost 10 years since Medine launched her Man Repeller blog and became a breakout star of the street-style scene with her idiosyncratically fabulous style. Boxy jackets, chunky-chic pieces of jewellery and striped shirts are key elements of her signature look.
