Award-winning photojournalist Greg Marinovich was always on the front line in a conflict-ridden country, trying not to miss the perfect shot amid the violence. He has seen more war than most soldiers. In Shots from the Edge, Marinovich recounts his experiences in conflict zones from Somalia to Trump’s America. 

Why did you decide to write this book now?

I made a decision to finally get my photographs from three decades of shooting documentary and photojournalism into order and make collections. The process helped in collecting my thoughts and processing those experiences. I also had a lot of journal notes, articles, columns and thoughts written down in various places. It also helped that I was reunited with boxes of notebooks that had been in storage for some years...
