Two years ago, Mandisa Mandla was so ill following kidney failure she could barely walk.

While her life has since improved dramatically after she was put on dialysis at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town, the mother of two from Mfuleni still has to give up three days a week for dialysis.

She works nights to accommodate her four-hour visits to hospital and has given up visiting her family in the Eastern Cape due to the lack of dialysis facilities in rural areas...
