You, like most people on most days, probably struggle with the task of getting out of bed and dragging yourself to the gym to meet your personal trainer. After all, you have that thing called a job and you might even have little human beings who expect you to keep them alive, so a 5am gym call isn’t exactly ideal.

So of course, as always, technology has come to our rescue, promising to make our lives a little easier. Meet the latest trend in fitness, what Vogue calls telefitness.  What exactly is it?

It’s the emergence of fitness studios offering live-streamed classes with qualified trainers while you exercise from the comfort of your own home. And no, these are not Tae Bo video cassettes or YouTube videos that you can pause whenever you feel like it. Or maybe it is, but with Billy Blanks seeing your name across his own screen and occasionally shouting it to keep you going...
