My favourite places to go to on holiday are the bushveld for safari in Mpumalanga and Phinda in KwaZulu-Natal. I also love holidays on islands like Kefalonia and Mykonos in Greece. If I have to choose it would be on a yacht with my family between my favourite Greek islands.

Magoebaskloof is absolutely gorgeous and it’s probably one of the best parts of our country and many people don’t know about it. I’ve never been to Greece, but Paternoster in the Western Cape, a few hours from Cape Town, reminds me of a mini Greece. It is breathtaking. I love these little gems.

The Midlands Meander is a great place to reconnect with yourself, but it’s also filled with many interesting activities in the surrounds, such as horse-riding and zip-lining trails. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place in KwaZulu-Natal.

Mauritius is my favourite holiday destination, because the ocean doesn’t get deep and I can get nice visuals. If I fall the water is here [points to her knee]. So Mauritius is a safe swimming zone.

The best thing for rest and relaxation is to go to the bush. I love going to places like Phinda, which is a private game reserve in KwaZulu-Natal. I’ll make sure that I’m up at 6.30am to go on a game drive. Then I’ll come back for a nice, big breakfast, which invariably leads to a lovely nap.
