The biggest tragedy this whole week has been collectively witnessing a president going about his duties as if it’s business as usual, claiming to be undeterred when in fact the nation awaits his answers. 

Someone in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s inner circle must look him in the eye and, without equivocation, tell him it is hard for us ordinary people to take him seriously when he can’t answer questions about millions stacked in his couches and mattresses. 

Let that sink in. Can you imagine Ramaphosa chairing a cabinet meeting and someone coming to whisper something in his ear: “President, we’ve located Afrikaner, one of the guys who stole the cash in your mattresses!” ..
