The 1987 movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles depicts a calamitous journey with a happy ending. If only we could expect the same outcome in our home-grown odyssey of transport chaos.
We already know plenty about the state’s capacity to run an airline, and especially about its irremediable habit of throwing good taxpayers’ money after bad in pie-in-the-sky fantasies.
