Never mind Covid, it’s the new wave of corruption that SA needs to cure

We know how to keep Covid-19 at bay, so let’s do the same with our leadership and wash our hands of it

The second wave, experts have begun to tell us gently, will come and it is time for us to start preparing ourselves emotionally, psychologically and alcoholically.

Well, they haven’t mentioned the last one explicitly, but given what we now know about SA’s relationship with liquor, it’s safe to assume that the first two consecutive days of increasing infections will see the nation’s bottle stores emptying faster than a wallet dropped on the floor at an ANC convention.

In other countries hit hard by the virus, the first inklings of a second surge in infections have caused a mild flutter, if not outright alarm; the top of page two, if you will. ..
