EDITORIAL | Hiding the Etzebeth report is a shortsighted move
Now is the time for sports bodies such as SA Rugby to practise transparency and prove their critics wrong

This was one of the newspaper headlines over the weekend, announcing the outcome of an internal investigation by SA Rugby, overseen by retired judge Johann van der Westhuizen, into allegations of racism against the star Springbok player.
Upon first read of the headline, it appears as if Etzebeth, who went to the 2019 Rugby World Cup with a racism cloud hanging over his head, has been acquitted. But as the Khoisan Defiance Campaign pointed out on Monday, neither the criminal nor human rights cases against him have been scrapped...
