As SA eases into lockdown level 3, the enormous sense of collective relief is spoiled by the realisation that a large number of us just don’t seem to get it.
There was relief – joy even – at seeing the much busier roads on Monday, with commuters in cars and taxis on their way to earn a living once again and jolt the economy back to life. Building sites that have lain dormant for close to two months are alive again, and even municipal workers are much more visible (although as essential service workers they could work throughout level 4).
But all of this is tempered by an alarming fact...
