EDITORIAL | Beyond smokes, level 3 rules get even more mindless
Despite concessions and sensible restrictions, our government still appears to have lost touch with reality
Finally, after 66 days, the Monday we have been waiting for is here.
Millions of people are going back to work. Schools were set to open for matrics and Grade 7s (although teacher unions ended up throwing a spanner in those works). Sports practice can start again. Alcohol sales are permitted. Public transport is operating in some form. Domestic air travel is allowed for business trips.
A slight sense of normalcy is returning albeit in a whole new world. We remain in uncharted territory and the government’s handling of the novel coronavirus pandemic cannot be criticised without recognising the complexity of the state of affairs...
