EDITORIAL | Well, that sank like a stone, Duduzane

Zuma jnr needs to learn that there are times when it is wiser to keep a stony silence


Throw a stone in SA and you’ll hit someone with an opinion on our government’s lockdown decisions. Take Duduzane Zuma. Yes, that’s correct. As if he hasn’t got anything better to do, former president Jacob Zuma’s son took to social media on Monday to “interview” his dad about this and that, not least his own pearls of wisdom on the lockdown.

“Whenever the doors open or whenever the economy opens, whenever the lockdown is lifted, I believe the damage has been done,” Duduzane says piously, as a city skyline reflects in the large windows behind him. Clearly he is not one to worry about the dangers of people in glass houses throwing stones.

“I believe that a full lockdown for South Africa was a bit premature at that time,” he adds, with his father listening attentively on the other side of the online family reunion...
