“Scofflaw”, a satisfying word to say, has been trending on search engines since Sérgio Moro, Brazil’s former justice minister, used it on the man who until a few days ago was his boss.

Moro resigned after Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro fired the head of the federal police force, allegedly because the top cop was investigating allegations of fake-news peddling by Carlos Bolsonaro, one of the president’s four sons.

In his fiery farewell speech, one of the things Moro called Bolsonaro was “a scofflaw”...
