For whom the school bell tolls: how lockdown eases kids’ fear

There are many negatives to school being shut, but for some it is a break from extreme violence in many forms

It beggars belief: March 2020 was the first time that the US had no school shootings in that month since 2002. For most “seniors” (what we call matriculants) in that country it would have been the first such March since they were born.

Like everything else about America and its despicable president, their school shootings are dramatic, over the top, newsworthy.

For SA, even as we applaud our president for his steadfastness, the Covid-19 pandemic has forced us to lift a lens to many issues that still plague our country long after they should...
