Don’t let your new car take you for a ride
Here are the things you need to be absolutely sure about before you sign the dotted line
My word, we consumers need to be wide awake and super sceptical when we’re buying a car, new or used, to avoid being caught.
If it’s used: check for the spare key and service book with full service history, get the car professionally assessed before signing the deal, and don’t assume it has the balance of manufacturer’s warranty – check that the warranty hasn’t been invalidated by a missed service, accident history or a modification.
And make sure you’re not being charged for extras that the first owner paid for...
