SA cricket has no director, no permanent coach, and, apparently, no idea – and England are coming

South African cricket hasn’t been this exciting for years, offering spectators the spectacle of dramatic implosions, clownish mid-pitch mix-ups, costly fumbles, and senior players hopelessly bamboozled by spin. And that’s just the Cricket South Africa suits up in the boardroom. 

In case you don’t follow cricket, perhaps because you prefer to watch sporting codes in which South Africans sometimes win, the short version is this. 

Since readmission in 1991, SA cricket has faced three threats it has been utterly unable to combat; monstrous opponents who have left our players beaten, demoralised, confused and looking like amateurs. ..
