... is Zuma a Bourne survivor who’s as clueless as Jon Snow?

In case I've being too harsh on the old man, here's a sympathetic take on some of his statements at the Zondo probe so far

Jacob Zuma has been through a lot. Mostly Schabir Shaik’s savings, but still. And as he stood outside the Zondo commission this week, Carl Niehaus close by his side just in case the former president accidentally dropped a fiver, he looked tired.

You almost felt sorry for him, if you were a four-year-old or one of the crowd of supporters sent over by Enablers R Us. Imagine being 77 years old and having to start every morning reminding yourself of which lies you’ve told to which people, or making sure your natural glow is because you’re taking vitamins and not polonium.

It must be hard. So hard, in fact, that it made me wonder: have I been unnecessarily harsh on an old man?..
