What if Marianne Thamm went through YOUR trash?

That was the urgent question asked by a pundit after the Daily Maverick’s veteran writer went dumpster-diving outside the luxury villa rented by the EFF’s entourage during its Sona field trip last month.

Thamm’s piece, published on Wednesday and titled “Revolutionary trash sometimes requires trash journalism, literally”, has truly set a manky, matted cat among the genteel pigeons of the bourgeoisie, dividing opinion even more radically than the plastic doors Woolworths has put over its dairy fridges: since the piece washed across social media I have seen live-and-let-live types spit their zols at the hypocrisy of the EFF, while staunch supporters of free speech have warned that Thamm has launched us down a slippery slope...
