We are all familiar with the debilitating pain of a headache. They are extremely common – four out of five of us suffer with tension headaches and one in seven have migraines – and can have a serious effect on quality of life.

Headaches remain a leading cause of absence from work, costing the British economy £8.8bn a year in lost productivity, according to a 2018 study.
